Course Content

Algebra
Algebra in Grade 11 focuses on simplifying, factoring, and solving various types of algebraic expressions and equations. Key areas include solving linear and quadratic equations, working with exponents, and using simultaneous equations. Students will also tackle factorization and the manipulation of surds, helping build a strong foundation for solving complex algebraic problems.

  • Multiple Choice Questions:

Functions and Graphs
This topic introduces students to different types of functions such as linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, along with their graphical representations. Students will learn how to plot graphs, analyze key features like intercepts, turning points, and asymptotes, and explore the transformations of graphs (e.g., translations and reflections). Understanding function notation and operations, including inverses, is also key to mastering this section

Trigonometry
Trigonometry in Grade 11 builds on the basics learned in earlier grades, focusing on the application of trigonometric ratios (sine, cosine, tangent) in both right-angled and non-right-angled triangles. Students will use the sine and cosine rules to solve triangles and apply trigonometric identities in various mathematical problems, including real-world applications such as height and distance calculations

Analytical Geometry
Analytical Geometry involves the study of straight lines, their equations, and properties. Students will learn how to calculate the gradient, distance, and midpoint between points, as well as work with equations of straight lines in different forms (slope-intercept, general form). This section also covers the interpretation and solving of geometric problems algebraically, including understanding parallel and perpendicular lines

Measurement
The Measurement section covers the calculation of perimeter, area, and volume for 2D and 3D shapes, such as triangles, circles, spheres, and cylinders. Students will practice converting between different units of measurement and solve real-life problems involving geometry, helping to develop practical skills in applying mathematical concepts to everyday situations

Probability and Data Handling
In this section, students will study probability theory, including calculating the probability of events and understanding compound events using Venn diagrams and tree diagrams. Additionally, they will work with descriptive statistics such as the mean, median, mode, range, and standard deviation to interpret and analyze data. Representing data through various graphs, such as histograms and cumulative frequency graphs, is also part of this topic
